Mission Statement

For 2,500 years, the teachings of the Buddha (the Dhamma) have been passed down from teacher to student; generation to generation; culture to culture; and heart to heart; Bringing light into the lives of everyone with whom it came in contact. The Light of the Dhamma Society is a continuation of this process, and is made up of members whose lives have been touched by this ancient teaching, and desire to live their lives accordingly. The Light of the Dhamma Society's aims include: The creation of opportunities for the study of the Dhamma through retreats, resources, guest teachers, and publications; Foster a sense of community (Sangha) of fellow practitioners for support, encouragement and mutual benefit; and reach out to other Buddhist communities, and organizations for mutual benefit in maintaining, spreading and ensuring the continuation of the Dhamma for future generations to come.
Membership
The Light of the Dhamma is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for the study of Dhamma through retreats, tapes, guest teachers, publications, etc.
The $20 annual membership fee and the donations that we receive allow us to make these opportunities available to all.
